The BOV National League II kicks-off this weekend with seven matches from match-day 1 to be played between Friday and Sunday.
Fourteen teams will be taking part this season after Xghajra Tornados, Kirkop United, Zejtun Corinthians and Luqa St. Andrew’s were relegated from the BOV Amateur League I with Kalkara United and Dingli Swallows promoted at the end of last season as champions and runners-up respectively of the BOV Amateur League II.
The other teams taking part are Msida St. Joseph, Ta’ Xbiex, Mdina Knights, Siggiewi, St. George’s, Rabat Ajax, Marsaskala, Gharghur, Sta. Venera Lightnings and Ghaxaq.
The league will be played over two rounds with the top two teams promoted to the National League I.
Once again, not more than one non-homegrown player can be on the field of play although two may be on the official match report form. However, for a club to field a non-homegrown player, the club must have at least one homegrown player who is under nineteen years of age before January 1, 2026.
This requirement ceases to apply where such player/s is/are on the field of play is sent off by the referee player is injured and the team has used all substitutions.
