Balzan extended their positive run in the VBET Malta Premier Opening Round league phase to four matches as they held Sliema Wanderers in a goalless draw at the National Stadium on Sunday.
It was also the second successive for Andrew Cohen’s side following the draw with Valletta last week.
Sliema, on the other hand, dropped two points after claiming maximum points from the previous three matches.
Early in the game, Gustavo Alcino risked committing an own goal as he headed the ball towards goal but Henry Bonello came to the rescue as he deflected the ball into safety. Balzan threatened once again with attempts by Yuel twice and Eder.
The best chance for Sliema occurred in the dying minutes with Mohamed Awad having a fine shot neutralised by goalkeeper Dylan Ciappara.
