Brian Said joins Floriana

Floriana FC announced that Malta international defender Brian Said has joined the club on a permanent basis. Said was a free agent thanks to a clause which released him from his contract with Marsaxlokk.
The thirty-six year old defender started his career with St. Andrews, making his Premier League debut with the Saints in season 1991/92. In 1994/95, he played for Birkirkara Luxol following the merger of St. Andrews and Birkirkara. However one year later, he joined Floriana.
With the Greens, Said spent six years before moving on to Sliema Wanderers in summer 2001. With the Blues, he won three championships and three FA Trophies among other major honours.
Brian Said had joined Marsaxlokk last year.
In a statement, the club said “Brian Said will bring along a wealth of experience both on local and international level. Said is not new to the Floriana clan, since he previously donned the green and white shirt prior joining Sliema Wanderers. The committee would like to thank all involved for Brian’s return to Floriana.”
