Mark Marlow takes over as new Sliema coach

Mark Marlow has been appointed as the new coach of Sliema Wanderers. He replaces Stephen Azzopardi who was relieved of his duties earlier this week.

Despite an intensive transfer campaign this summer, the Blues were a major disappointment in the Premier League so far. They are currently in fifth place, eleven points behind joint-leaders Birkirkara and Valletta, after losing seven out of the fourteen matches played.

Marlow had started the season with Msida St. Joseph before quitting earlier this month. Before he had acted as a player coach with Kercem Ajax, then was a member of staff at the MFA Technical Centre and then assistant to the national futsal coach.

Meanwhile it is believed that Sliema have offered Stephen Azzopardi another role at the club.
