Two Premier League players suspended

Hibernians midfielder Christian Callejas and Tarxien striker Anderson Mendes Ribeiro are ruled out of the derby Tarxien vs Hibernians on Sunday after both were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner.

In Division 1, eight players were banned for one match – Florent Raimy (Marsaxlokk), Andrew Caruana Scicluna (Melita), Mark Briggs (Mosta), Vilson Caushi (Mqabba), Chris Cuschieri and Neil Curmi (San Gwann), Anthony Bonello (St. George’s) and Garth Galea (St. Patrick).

In Division 2, Peter Paul Buttigieg (Gozo) and Joseph Mercieca (Zebbug) were both suspended for two matches while Josmar Vella (Gozo), Roderick Debattista (Gzira), Andre Scicluna (Lija), Joseph Caruana (Rabat) and William Camilleri (St. Andrews) were banned for one match. Gzira kit-manager John Muscat was suspended for four matches.

Martin Ciantar (Kalkara) was handed a two-match ban in Division 3 while Stephen Callus (Luqa), Gilbert Camilleri (Mdina), Darren Falzon and David Vella (Naxxar), Adam Calleja Urry (Swieqi), Neville Sciberras (Xghajra) and Darren Vella (Zejtun) were banned for one game.

In the Youth League, Claudio Pace (Fgura), Kurt Desira and Nathan Abela (Ghaxaq), Peter Paul Sammut (Hibs), Miguel Borg and Matthias Vella (San Gwann) and Lee Fenech (Sirens) were suspended for one game while Hibernians coach Edmond Lufi and Siggiewi official Clayton Muscat were banned for two matches.
