BOV Player of the Month: Trevor Cilia wins last award of the season

Birkirkara midfielder Trevor Cilia won the BOV Player of the Month award for April and May 2010. This follows the award won by the same player for February.

Cilia is widely acknowledged as being a key member of Birkirkara, having played a remarkable role in helping his team scoop the BOV Premier League title for season 2009-2010. His vital goal when he netted the winner in March to earn the Stripes a 1-0 victory over Valletta was followed up by five more conversions in the run-in for the league crown over the past two months.

Cilia’s contribution to the Yellow-Reds’ success, rubber-stamped by his versatility in midfield as well as a goal scorer, has boosted the performances of his team-mates, while attracting the attention of national coach John Buttigieg. This is attested by the regular inclusion of this player in the Malta squad.

This individual honour, the last of the season, was certainly the icing on the cake for the Birkirkara player following the triumph in the premier league.

Charles Borg, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta presented the trophy to Trevor Cilia who chose Puttinu Cares to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
