Wanderers present Tunisian striker

Sliema Wanderers presented their new foreign player, Chakib Lachkhem.

The 25 year old Tunisian national has represented his national team in all the youth categories and also has four caps with the national team to his name. Lachkhem played with various North African football clubs such as EGS Gafsa FC and Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia and Moulodia Algiers.

The signing of Lachkhem was possible through the new Sliema Wanderers FC’s Team Manager, Ridha Dardouri.

“I am delighted in joining a club rich with tradition and the most glorious in the Maltese Islands and I want to prove myself again here. It will be tough but I am grateful about this challenge,” Chakib said during his presentation.

President Steve Abela also commented about the new Tunisian striker. “He is a player who fit in the team immediately and left an impact straight away. I am pleased to have him on board.”

Sliema coach Mark Marlow said “We have been looking into strengthening the squad and Chakib fits in as one of our foreigners where I believe we had to reinforce.”
