BOV Premier League returns after Christmas break

The BOV Premier League will be back this weekend after a rather unusual break due to Christmas and the New Year. The first game in programme for this weekend is the clash between Floriana and Hamrun Spartans at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Both sides will be aiming for the three points which would put either side in third place behind leaders Valletta and second-placed Tarxien Rainbows. Hamrun are currently fourth on 19 points, followed by Floriana on 18.

The Greens should have two new strikers in squad, namely Bulgarian Dragomir Draganov and Nigerian Daniel Nwoke. Since their last game, American striker Michael Mecerod has been released.

The Spartans will be unable to field their best formation due to the absence of the suspended Massimo Grima and the injured Dene Shields and Rupert Mangion.

In the first round, Floriana beat Hamrun 2-1.
