Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban following the weekend’s matches from the BOV Premier League. The players are Pablo Doffo (Floriana), Rupert Mangion (Hamrun), Rumen Galabov (Marsaxlokk), Cleavon Frendo and Matthew Bartolo (Qormi), Omonigho Temile (Valletta).

Mangion and Galabov are ruled out of Friday’s clash between Hamrun and Marsaxlokk. Frendo and Bartolo will be missing Qormi-Hibs while Temile is ruled out of the game against Sliema. Doffo will miss the game against Tarxien on Sunday.

Hamrun Spartans technical staff member Stefan Sultana was banned for two matches.

In Division 1, Matthew Borda (Msida) was suspended for two matches while Pedro Dos Santos Calcado and Rennie Forace (Balzan), Matthew Borg and Simon Galea (Melita) and David Azzopardi (Mqabba) were all banned for one game.

In Division 2, Mark Pullicino and Florin Anton (Birzebbuga), Clayton Giordimaina (Gzira), Yessous Camilleri (Rabat) and Heathcliff Schembri (Zejtun) were handed a one-match ban. Rabat Ajax kit-manager Andrew Cachia was banned for one year, until January 25, 2012.

Nazzareno Abela (Fgura) and Demis Grima (Marsa) were suspended for one match in Division 3.

In the Youth League, Daniel Scicluna (Kirkop) was banned until September 2011. Andrew Agius and Christopher Micallef (Attard), Peter Paul Sammut (Gudja), Ryan Refalo (Hamrun), Leigh Spiteri (Msida), Dwayne Grech (Pembroke), Calvin Brincat (Sta. Venera) were suspended for one match. Naxxar Lions coach Alexander Delia and Hamrun Spartans assistant coach Marco Grech were both banned for two matches.
