Vittoriosa Stars striker Leighton Grech was handed a two-match ban and another seven Premier League players were suspended for one game by the MFA Disciplinary on Wednesday.
The other players are Duncan Pisani (Floriana), Gaetan Spiteri (Hamrun), Malcolm Licari (Marsaxlokk), Matthew Farrugia (Qormi), Gianluca Calabretta and Ryan Mintoff (Tarxien) and Denni Rocha Dos Santos (Valletta).
Pisani and Licari are ruled out of Marsaxlokk vs Floriana on Saturday while Calabretta and Mintoff will be missing the game against Birkirkara. Spiteri and Denni are ruled out of Hamrun vs Valletta on Sunday. Leighton Grech will be missing the Relegation Pool clashes against Hibernians and Qormi. Matthew Farrugia is ruled out of the game against Sliema.
In Division 1, George Gribbon (Melita), Mauro Bonnici (Mqabba) and Ronni Hartvig (St. Andrews) were banned for one match while Melita assistant coach Neil Zarb Cousin was suspended for two matches.
Keith Bonello and Richard Attard (Gzira), Adrian Fenech and Andre Rocha Da Silva (Naxxar) were all suspended for one match in Division 2 while Clive Lanzon and Marco Sultana (Attard), Giovanni Galea (Sirens), Brian Chetcuti and Jason Galea (Sta. Lucia) were banned for one match in Division 3. Sta. Lucia kit manager Ian Spiteri was handed a two-match ban.
Justin Camenzuli (Balzan), Kersey Ferriggi (St. George’s) and Noel Bilocca (Zejtun) were banned for two matches in the Youth League while Kevin Camilleri and Michael Borg (Balzan), Ryan Refalo (Hamrun), Glendon Refalo (Msida), Royter Degiorgio (Senglea), Luca Borg (Mtarfa), Joel Felice (Siggiewi), Clint Portelli (St. George’s) and Luke Caruana (Tarxien) were suspended for one match. Zejtun Corinthians kit-manager Kevin Mifsud was handed a three-match ban. Nathan Abela (Ghaxaq) was banned for one match in the Youth Knock-Out.
