After being held in a draw by Marsaxlokk, Floriana will be aiming at returning to winning ways on Saturday as they take on Tarxien Rainbows.
The Greens cannot afford any result other than a win as they are currently second on level points with Birkirkara, one ahead of Marsaxlokk. In a match from the Championship Pool, Floriana had defeated Tarxien 5-1 but the two first phase clashes ended in a 2-0 and 3-1 wins for the Rainbows.
Tarxien lost five of the last six matches and after losing the pace in the race for the runner-up position, are now expected to put their full focus on the U*BET FA Trophy.
No players are ruled out through suspension.
Meanwhile in the first match, Vittoriosa Stars bid farewell to the BOV Premier League in a game against Sliema Wanderers.
Vittoriosa were condemned to a quick return to Division 1 last week after being held in a 2-2 draw by Qormi.
Sliema, on the other hand, made sure of finishing the Relegation Pool on top after beating Hibernians 3-2.
The Wanderers registered three narrow wins over the Stars – 1-0, 4-3 and 2-1 – in the previous three rounds and hope to conclude the season.
