Pembroke Athleta celebrated the Women’s Second Division Championship after defeating St. Venera Yellow Blues 7-0 in the final game on Tuesday.
Pembroke, who finished second second last season, were the team to beat this year. They won thirteen matches, dropping the only points in two draws with Melita and Hamrun and a defeat to Marsa. They scored 69 goals and suffered only eleven.
Pembroke finished on top with 41 points, five ahead of Marsa who placed second on 36, followed by St. Venera on 27, Zurrieq and Hamrun 25, Kirkop 21, Lija/Iklin 11, Melita 8 and Tarxien 7.
Runners-up Marsa also secure automatic promotion to Division 1.
