Lazio Supporters Club Malta is currently organising the Lazio Summer Camp at the Xghajra Ground. Details about this one-week training camp were revealed during a press conference at the Waterfront Hotel, G?ira.
Former Lazio youth sector chief and talent scout Volfango Patarca explained that young Maltese players had talent. He said that since his first visit, he came to Malta on a regular basis and took young Maltese players for training camps in Italy.
Patarca said that over these years, he witnessed a lot of improvement and believed that Malta could produce better players than Italy, thanks to the work being carried out in local nurseries.
Former Lazio player and coach Giancarlo Oddi and former Lazio goalkeeper and now a coach, Felice Pulici, joined Patarca for this training camp.
Pulici said he was honoured to be in Malta once again since his first visit in 2002. Pulici said that he works voluntarily for the Federazione Sport Sordi Italia – a sports federation for the deaf in Italy and revealed that he would like to organise a summer camp for people with special needs.
Also present for the press conference was Lazio Supporters Club Malta president Edward Psaila and the president of Xghajra Tornados Lawrence Lia.
In fact, Xghajra Tornados and Santa Lucia are supporting this initiative by the Lazio Supporters Club Malta.
