Esther Azzopardi to control matches in Women’s Champions League

FIFA Referee Esther Azzopardi Farrugia has been appointed by UEFA to officiate in a UEFA Women’s Champions League 2012 Qualifying Round Group 4 mini-tournament to be played in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the 11th to 16th August 2011.

The teams taking part with hosts WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) are FK Gintra Universitetas (Lithuania), CFF Olimpia Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Ata?ehir Belediyespor (Turkey).

Ms Azzopardi Farrugia will be involved in the following matches:
• On the 11th, as Referee in WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo (BIH) – CFF Olimpia Cluj-Napoca (ROU) at Grbavica Stadium (Sarajevo).
• On the 13th, as 4th Official in WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo (BIH) – Ata?ehir Belediyespor (TUR) at Asim Ferhatovi?-Hase Stadium (Sarajevo).
• On the 16th, as Referee in FK Gintra Universitetas (LTU) – WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo (BIH) at Grbavica Stadium (Sarajevo).

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, FIFA Referee Marco Borg will be controlling the Challenge Trophy match between Scotland and Denmark, to be played at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

His Assistant Referees will be FIFA Officials Konrad G. Borg and Edward Spiteri. The Fourth Official is appointed by the Scottish FA.
