Competitions organised by the Gozo Football Association will kick-off on September 3 with the first two matches of the Second Division Knock-Out Preliminary Round. The following day, four First Division clubs will be in action in the Preliminary Round of the Independence Cup. The finals of these two competitions will be played on September 21.
The First Division League gets underway on on September 25 with the games Sannat Lions vs SK Victoria Wanderers and Xaghra United vs Victoria Hotspurs. Xewkija Tigers take on Ghajnsielem on October 1 while Nadur Youngsters play their first league game on October 2 against champions Sannat Lions.
The GFA Cup final will be played 26th April while the Tazza Jum il-?elsien will be played on the 31st March. The Super Cup will be played on the 29th April.
The Second Division League will kick-off on the 24th September with the games Zebbug Rovers vs Qala Saints and Oratory Youths vs Kercem Ajax. St. Lawrence Spurs take on Munxar Falcons while Gharb Rangers face Zebbug on September 29. The last Second Division League matches are scheduled for April 21. The Second Division Super Cup will be played on the 29th April.
Meanwhile the Gozo Stadium will be hosting the Malta Under-21 side in UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Ukraine and Lithuania on October 7 and 11 respectively.
The Gozo Stadium will also host four matches from the First Round of the FA Trophy on September 10 and 11. Four Second Round matches will also be played in Gozo on November 12 and 13. As from this season, all Gozitan teams are eligible to take part in the U*BET FA Trophy.
In past, a Gozo XI used to take part in the FA Trophy. Gozo FC also took part when they played Premier League and First Division football. Over the past two years, Gozo was represented by its champion in the FA Trophy – Sannat Lions in 2009/10 and Victoria Hotspurs last season.
