Four teams will be seeking their first win as newly-promoted Mqabba and Balzan Youths face Sliema Wanderers and Qormi respectively on Sunday at the National Stadium.
In the first match, after holding Hibernians in a 3-3 draw last week, Sliema Wanderers will be aiming at obtaining the three points against Mqabba who lost 0-2 to Floriana in their first outing.
The Wanderers will be lacking Mark Scerri who was sent off while new signings Rumen Galabov and Timmy Thomas are yet to make their debut as they are nursing injuries.
Mqabba, on the other hand, should hand Serbian striker Bojan Mamic his debut. After starting his career in Serbia, Mamic played in Belarus, Lithuania, Spain, Hungary and Bahrain.
In the second match, both Qormi and Balzan hope to collect their first points after both lost their opening game. Qormi lost 0-2 to Birkirkara while Balzan were defeated 1-3 by Hamrun Spartans although they have now filed a protest against the result over the alleged ineligibility of Daniel Zerafa.
Malta international defender Kenneth Scicluna is expected to make his debut for Stephen Azzopardi’s side while Under-21 international Miguel Ciantar should make his first appearance for Balzan following his loan move from Sliema.
