Hibernians aim for fourth successive win

Hibernians will be aiming for a fourth successive win on Sunday as they take on neighbours Tarxien Rainbows in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

Both sides will be aiming for the three points for completely different reasons. The Paolites would move back on top the Premier League table while the Rainbows would start their climb out of the bottom part of the table.

After sharing the spoils in a draw with Sliema in their first outing, Hibs defeated Marsaxlokk, Birkirkara, Balzan and Valletta, therefore inflicting the first league defeat on the champions in eighteen months. Tarxien, on the other hand, collected four points so far in a draw with Hamrun and a win over Mosta, losing to Valletta, Floriana and Qormi.

Hibernians defender Adrian Pulis and Tarxien’s Orosco Anonam and Justin Grioli are suspended.

Meanwhile in the first match, Mosta take on Hamrun Spartans in a clash between the bottom two teams.

Two teams who lost four games and collected just one point – Mosta in a draw with Balzan and Hamrun in a draw with Tarxien.

The Spartans will be without Brazilian striker Anderson Mendes Ribeiro who will be serving a one-match ban.
