Tarxien Rainbows filed a protest against the result of the BOV Premier League match against Marsaxlokk which was played on Sunday as they allege the Southseasiders fielded an ineligible player. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Rainbows claim that Marsaxlokk’s Serbian attacking midfielder Ivan Kurtusic was ineligible as he had already played for two clubs during season 2011/12.
Kurtusic made his debut for Marsaxlokk in the game against Valletta earlier this month. The game against Tarxien was his second one.
The Serbian midfielder moved to Malta in December, joining Vittoriosa Stars in Division 1.
