Mosta, Mqabba continue battle against relegation

Mosta and Mqabba will be all out to get the three points on Friday as they take on Marsaxlokk and Qormi respectively in two clashes from the Relegation Pool at the Hibernians Stadium.

The two teams are joint-second from bottom on 21 points, three behind Tarxien Rainbows and four behind Hamrun Spartans.

In the first game, Mosta face Marsaxlokk who have already been relegated to Division 1.

Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, lost seventeen of the last eighteen matches and are coming from a series of seven consecutive defeats in which they suffered 28 goals and scored four.

Clive Brincat and Trevor Templeman will be back for Marsaxlokk after serving a one-match ban.

Marsaxlokk won the first round clash 5-2 but after a goalless draw in the second round, Mosta registered a 5-1 win in the third round.

In the second match, Mqabba face Qormi

Mqabba returned to winning ways, defeating Marsaxlokk 4-0 after two draws and two defeats in the previous four matches. Qormi, on the other hand, secured their Premier League status with a 6-0 win over Hamrun Spartans in their last outing. This was the third consecutive win and the fourth win in five matches.
