Domestic football resumes on June 20 — BOV Super Cup scheduled for August 3

Season 2012/13 will be kicking off as early as June 20th with the first match from the Euro Cup. The pre-season competition will be played between the 20th and the 29th.

The BOV Super Cup will be played on August 3 while the first games from the BOV Premier League will be played between the 17th and 19th August.

There will be short breaks due to national team matches and a break for the festive season between December 23 and January 3.

The BOV Premier League first phase ends on February 10 while the second phase gets underway on February 22. The final match will be played on May 4.

Taking part in the Euro Cup will be champions Valletta, FA Trophy winners Hibernians, Birkirkara and Floriana. Matches will be played on June 20, 21, 25 and 26 at the Centenary Stadium, 28 and 29 at the Hibernians Stadium.

The first round of the U*BET FA Trophy will be played between August 7 and 9, the second round between October 19 and 21, the third round between November 30 and December 2, the fourth round between January 21 and 23, the quarter finals between February 16 and 17 and the semi-finals on May 10 and 11. The final will be played on May 19.

The BOV First, Second and Third Division leagues kick-off on September 14. The BOV First and Second Division leagues come to an end on April 28 while the final league matches from the BOV Third Division will be played on April 27.

The Youth League kicks-off on September 3 with the first matches from Sections C and D. The first matches from Section A and B will be played on September 12. The last matches will be played on April 25 for Sections A and B and May 1 for Sections C and D.

The Women’s Super Cup will be played on September 10 while the Women’s League kicks-off on September 18. The final matches will be played on April 23. The Women’s Knock-out will be played between April 30 and May 21.

The Malta A national team will be playing World Cup qualifiers on September 7 home against Armenia, on September 11 away against Italy, on October 12 away against Czech Republic, on March 22 away against Bulgaria and on March 26 home against Italy.

The senior side will be playing two friendly matches away from home against San Marino on August 14 and against Liechtenstein on November 14. Another friendly match may be played on February 6.

The Under-21 side will be playing a friendly match at home against Liechtenstein on August 14 and another one at home against Austria on February 6. Another possible friendly could be played on November 12.

The Under-19 national team will taking part in a UEFA Under-19 Championship mini-tournament in Poland on October 9, 11 and 14.

The Under-17 national team will hosting the UEFA Under-19 Championship mini-tournament on September 29, October 1 and 4. The team will also take part in a tournament in Hungary between July 30 and August 5. the Under-17 Easter Tournament will be played on March 30, April 1 and 3.

The UEFA Regions Cup mini-tournament featuring a Gozitan selection will be played in Gozo on October 7, 9 and 11.

The women’s national team will be playing a friendly match against Cyprus away from home on January 12.

The UEFA Champions League first qualifying round will be played on July 3/4 and 10/11; the second qualifying round on July 17/18 and 24/25. The UEFA Europa League first qualifying round will be played on July 5 and 12; the second qualifying round on July 19 and 26.

Meanwhile the MFA Annual General Meeting will be held on July 21 while the draws for the National League are scheduled for June 30.
