Birzebbuga St. Peter’s returned to winning ways as they registered a most dramatic 4-3 win over Mqabba in a match from the BOV First Division at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Mead Mifsud put Birzebbuga ahead on 15 minutes and four minutes later, Glenn Tanti doubled the score. Joseph Okonkwo pulled one back for Mqabba on the 25th minute and seven minutes from the end of the second half, the same Nigerian striker levelled matters.
Nine minutes in the second half, Kassim Suleman put Mqabba ahead. However, Glanville Goodlip made it 3-3 on 61 minutes and ten minutes later, Mead Mifsud notched the winner for Patrick Curmi’s side.
Meanwhile in the second match, Gzira United and Zejtun Corinthians shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
Lija lead the way with 20 points, followed by Naxxar on 19, Marsaxlokk and Gudja on 18, Pietà 17, Zejtun and St. Andrews 16, Vittoriosa 15, Dingli 12, Birzebbuga 7 and Mqabba 3.
