Marsaxlokk returned on top the BOV First Division table as they defeated Dingli Swallows 3-1 in a match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.
Dylan Micallef put the Southseasiders ahead on 22 minutes. The same player doubled the score nine minutes in the second half. Lyden Micallef pulled one back for Dingli eight minutes from time but Andre Grabowski restored a two-goal lead two minutes later.
In another match, Vittoriosa Stars beat Pietà Hotspurs 3-1.
Marcelo Pereira gave the Stars a two-goal lead with goals on the 22nd and 24th minute. Quelin Refalo converted a penalty on 38 minutes but two minutes from half-time, Malcolm Buttigieg sealed the issue for Vittoriosa.
Marsaxlokk lead the way with 21 points, followed by Lija on 20, Naxxar 19, Vittoriosa and Gudja 18, Pietà 17, Zejtun and St. Andrews 16, Gzira 12, Dingli 8, Birzebbuga 7 and Mqabba 3.
