SK Victoria Wanderers defeated Victoria Hotspurs 1-0 in one of the three matches from the Melita First Division in Gozo.
Lauran Dimech scored the all-important goal on 84 minutes.
In another match on Sunday, Xaghra United beat Sannat Lions 3-2.
Maurice Hongla put Xaghra ahead on the 17th, Bledar Vata levelled matters on 29 minutes but four minutes from the end of the first half, Joseph Bartolo made it 2-1. Eight minutes from time, Vata scored again for Sannat but give minutes later, Jason Portelli notched the winner.
On Saturday, champions Nadur Youngsters were held in a 2-2 draw by Xewkija Tigers.
Claudio Antunes put Nadur ahead on the 4th minute but Dene Shields equalised on the 25th. A minute later, Antunes was sent off for the Youngsters but they still managed to take the lead on 73 minutes through Milos Stojanovic. However five minutes in added time, Dene Shields restored equilibrium.
Meanwhile in the Melita Second Division, Qala Saints beat St. Lawrence Spurs 2-1.
The Spurs took the lead on 38 minutes thanks to Mark Sciberras. Mario Mifsud levelled matters on the 85th but five minutes later, Christoph Caruana notched the winner.
