Champions Birkirkara claimed the double after defeating holders Mosta on penalties in the final of the Women’s Knock-Out.

The Blues managed to take the lead on the 16th minute through Dorianne Theuma. Birkirkara levelled matters through Stefania Farrugia on the 74th to force extra-time.

The game went into extra-time but no goals were scored and therefore penalties had to decide the issue.

In the penalty shoot-out, Birkirkara scored four and Mosta two.

After the game, Birkirkara captain Rachel Cuschieri was presented with the cup by MFA vice-president Ludovigo Micallef.
