Hibernians FC announced that they have appointed Branko Nisevic as their new coach. He replaces Michael Woods whose contract was terminated with mutual agreement.
Nisevic moved to Malta in season 2000/01 to join Hibernians. He left the Paolites at the end of season 2003/04, joining Pietà Hotspurs but in the January transfer window, he moved to Valletta. After two years with the Citizens, Nisevic joined Sliema Wanderers where he spent two years.
The following season, he joined Birkirkara as assistant coach to Paul Zammit. However he eventually signed a one-year contract as a player as well. He spent another year as assistant coach with Birkirkara before joining the MFA Technical Centre where he was the coach of the Under-19 national team and assistant coach to the senior side.
In a short statement, the Hibernians Executive Committee wished Nisevic success and promised him support in this new experience at the helm of the Paolites.
