Chievo Verona Summer Camp to be held in Malta

Chievo-VeronaAfter thirteen years of successful Summer Camps in Italy, AC Chievo Verona aims at expanding their philosophy in Malta with the launch of a Summer Camp which will be held between the 8th and 27th July. This summer camp was launched during a press conference at the Hotel Fortina, Sliema.

Chievo Verona’s dedication to youth development runs throughout the whole club. From the first team to the Academy teams to Chievo Verona Scuola Calcio, all the coaching staff share the same vision to nurture young footballers and lead them to become young talent.

Chievo Verona Allievi Nazionali B coach Dario Lazzarin said the aim of these summer camps is to promote the club’s model to affiliate clubs. Eighty Italian clubs/nurseries are affiliates of Chievo Verona and hopefully Chievo will have an affiliate in Malta as well.

Lazzarin said the main objective is to teach football while respecting the child by putting him at the centre. Respecting child development was of utmost importance.

After conducting a session with a number of children at the Sliema Wanderers Complex, Dario Lazzarin went on to explain the methods used at Chievo Verona. He said he appreciates the good work being done in local nurseries and affiliation will eventually lead to exchange of ideas between Chievo coaches and local coaches.

All activity taking place during the Summer Camp is focused to the development age of the participant, training sessions will be challenging but achievable, guaranteeing that each kid leaves the camp with a raised self-esteemed and most importantly having experienced fun and enjoyment within an international contest.

The Chievo Verona Scuola Calcio coaches had been going through a rigorous qualification and selection process in order to guarantee quality and attention to each and every player attending the Camp.

Chievo Verona Scuola Calcio have designed Summer Camps for over a decade meeting the developmental needs of young players across the various age groups.

“The experience of a lifetime” is how many Chievo Verona Summer Camp participants have described their English and Soccer experience. Chievo Verona intensive summer camps are crammed full of activity and education, offering a summer study break in Malta that will be remembered forever.

Technical football lessons take place either in the morning or in the evening at the MIDI Sliema Wanderers Sport Complex. No matter what the young players ability, they undergo a comprehensive course covering technique, tactics, physical, mental and social elements of the game, in a fun, safe and friendly atmosphere.

For those kids interested in a more complete package, the organisers can also offer English lessons with a local English Feltom recognised Language School and extra curriculum activities. Parents will be able to drop their kids off in the morning and pick them up after working hours.

The Chievo Summer Camp will take place from the 8th to the 27 of July. Potential participants can attend one, two or three weeks.

Alternatively get in touch with your nursery, group quotations are also available on request. Scouting will also be conducted, two players have already been selected this year, they will be assessed shortly at the Chievo Verona Headquarters.

Santino Bonetti from Prime Language Courses – the organisation behind this summer camp – said this summer camp will provide an excellent opportunity for children, born 1998 to 2005, as it is both an educational experience and fun. They will be mixing up with children from other countries who will be here to learn English and therefore locals will get exposure to other cultures. He went on to say that the summer school will offer flexibility in sessions in order for the child to receive the full programme.

The fee for one week is €195, €295 for two weeks and €380 for three weeks. One may also book five excursions plus English Language lessons for €245 or excursions only for €145.

All participants will receive the Chievo Verona certificate of attendance at the Camp and one Official Chievo Verona Kit (1 Cap, 1 top, 1 short, 1 pair of socks, 1 bag).
