An early goal paved the way for Valletta as they registered their second win in the Euro Cup, defeating Sliema Wanderers 3-1.
Nigerian forward Aud-Gustine James Obaje put the Citizens ahead on the 12th minute. Denni Rocha dos Santos converted a penalty two minutes in the second half to double the score and Shaun Bajada, who was on loan with the Blues last season, made it 3-0 on the 70th. The Wanderers reduced the gap eight minutes from time through Paltemio Barbetti
Valletta lead the table with seven points, followed by Hibernians on four, Sliema three and Birkirkara zero.
The final match from the tournament will be played on Wednesday as Birkirkara face Hibernians. The Paolites would end their commitments on level points with Valletta should they beat Birkirkara. The Stripes, on the other hand, seek their first win after losing the first two games.
The game will be played at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 20:00.
