The Malta FA Refereeing Department announces the first of a series of referees’ exchanges taking place this season.

FIFA Elite Category Referee Fyodor Zammit shall be in charge of the important Women’s Top Division match between FC Honka vs Aland United on Saturday 14th September. FC Honka are occupying third place while Aland United are currently in first place.

The match is being played in Finland’s second largest city and municipality, Espoo. The other members in Fyodor Zammit’s refereeing team shall be FIFA Assistant Referee Mitchell Scerri and Elite Assistant Referee Peter Abela. For Peter Abela this will be his debut in international football.

On Sunday 15th September, FIFA Referee Kevin Azzopardi shall be the referee of the Men’s First Division match, PK-35 Vantaa vs Ilves, at the ISS Stadion in Vantaa, Finland’s fourth largest city. Mitchell Scerri and Peter Abela have been appointed as assistant referees.

An agreement has been reached for Finnish match officials to officiate in the Women’s First Division and the BOV Premier League in February 2014.
