Hamrun Spartans came back from two goals down to hold Zejtun Corinthians in a 2-2 draw in a clash from the BOV First Division.
After a goalless first half, Adrian Carabott put Zejtun ahead in 59 minutes. Aleksandrs Cekuljaevs doubled the score on 73 minutes but a minute later, an own goal by Aldo Shkalla put the Spartans back in contention. Ryan Spiteri notched the equaliser on the 80th.
Msida St. Joseph and St. Andrews shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Brian Said put St. Andrews ahead on 22 minutes but Dylan Attard levelled matters on 32 minutes. St. Andrews regained the lead two minutes in added time through Emiliano Lattes but an own goal by Neil Chetcuti enabled Msida to earn a point from the game.
Melita defeated St. George’s 2-0 thanks to second-half goals by Julian Galea and Jose Jairo Rodriguez.
In another match, Lija Athletic beat Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 3-0. Kiril Aleksandrov put Lija ahead and Ige Abdullahi Adeshina doubled the score in the first half. Aleksandrov scored again mid-way through the second half.
