Five Premier League players suspended

20110417-114224.jpgFive Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after the weekend’s BOV Premier League matches.

Paul Fenech (Birkirkara), Edison Luis dos Santos (Hibs), Andre Rocha da Silva (Naxxar), Mark Scerri (Sliema) and Fernando Lopes Alcantara (Tarxien) are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.

Fenech and Fernando Lopes are ruled out of Birkirkara vs Tarxien, Andre Rocha misses the game against Balzan, Mark Scerri the match against Vittoriosa while Tarabai is ruled out of the clash with Floriana.

In Division 1, Neil Chetcuti (St. Andrews) and Melvin Farrugia (Zebbug) were banned for two matches while Martin Hrubsa (Birzebbuga), Andrew Amato (St. Andrews) and Jeffrey Farrugia (Zebbug) were suspended for one match. Zebbug official Anthony Lee Baldacchino and team manager Bruce Genovese were both suspended for two games.

Dylan Agius of Marsa was handed a three-match ban in Division 2 while Chris Zammit (Marsaskala) was banned for two matches. Another three Marsa players – Keith Darmanin, Josef Felice and Matthew Borg – were banned for one match.

In Division 3, Anderson Meyar de Melo (Ta’ Xbiex) and Matthew Spiteri (Santa Lucia) were suspended for two matches while Ryan Caruana (Attard), Andrea Hammett (Kalkara), Paul Psaila (Luqa) and Giovanni Galea (Sirens) were banned for one match.
