Under-17, Under-19 and Regions Cup draws held in Nyon

UEFA_logo_2012The 2014/15 qualifying round draw for the UEFA Under-19 Championship and the UEFA Under-17 Championship and the preliminary and intermediate round draws of 2014/15 UEFA Regions’ Cup were held on Thursday.

In the UEFA Under-19 Championship, Malta was drawn in Group 6 together with the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland and Gibraltar. The mini-tournament will be held in Ireland between the 13 and 18 November.

The top two in each section along with the third-placed nation with the best record against the leading pair will join Spain in the elite round in spring 2015. The seven group winners then join finals hosts Greece that July.

In the UEFA Under-17 Championship, Malta was drawn in Group 8 together with Serbia, Netherlands and Finland. Malta will host the mini-tournament between the 9 and 14 October.

The top two in each section along with the five third-placed teams with the best record against the leading pair will join Germany in the elite round in spring 2015. In all, 15 nations will join Bulgaria that May.

Gozo will once again represent Malta in the UEFA Regions Cup. They were placed in Group 6 of the Intermediate Round together with Turkey, Russia and Finland. The mini-tournament will be held in Gozo between October 1 and 5.

The eight intermediate round section winners will qualify for the final tournament, provisionally scheduled for the last two weeks of June 2015.
