Pietà Hotspurs move four points clear in the BOV First Division thanks to a 2-0 win over Zurrieq in one of the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

This was the sixth win in seven matches for Noel Coleiro’s side while Zurrieq, who are joint-third from bottom, suffered the fourth defeat in five matches.

In another match, St. George’s defeated Msida St. Joseph 2-1.

The Cospicua side therefore returned to winning ways and are now joint-sixth.

Pietà lead the way with 21 points, followed by Zebbug on 17, Melita and Lija 16, Birzebbuga 13, St. Andrews and St. George’s 12, Gzira and Zejtun 10, Zurrieq and Gudja 8, Msida 5 and Hamrun -2.
