Futsal national team off to Gibraltar for friendly matches

futsal-malta-balzan1310JBThe Malta Futsal national team led by coach Kevin Mifsud travelled to Gibraltar to play two friendly matches. Malta plays Gibraltar at the Tercentenary Hall on Thursday and once again on Saturday.

These will be the first international matches for Malta in almost a year after losing 0-9 to Georgia and 1-4 to Moldova in the Futsal EURO qualifiers.

The squad is made up of: Bjorn Vassallo, Brian Baldacchino, Mark Zammit, Rennie Tanti, Jovica Milijic, Cedric Sciberras, Bryan Deguara, Josef Borg, Melvin Borg, Dylan Musu, Giancarlo Sammut, Matthew Attard, Xavier Saliba (captain), Andy Mangion, Luke Stivala.

Gibraltar made their first international appearance in January last year in the Futsal EURO Preliminary Round, losing 10-2 to Montenegro and 6-2 to France and beating San Marino 7-5.
