Fourth edition of Givova Goalkeeper Battle launched

gkpeers-battle2014-launchThe fourth edition of the Givova Goalkeeper Battle 2014 will be held on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May at the Luxol Stadium. Details were given during a press conference on Friday by the organizers Mario Muscat and Simon Grech together with Valerie Micallef from the Zem Zem Foundation.

The Goalkeeper Battle will be open once again for seven categories, namely Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19 and the seniors category which is open for goalkeepers from the Premier League, First Division, Second Division, Third Division, and Futsal.

A maximum of thirty-two goalkeepers can take part in each category and each game has a duration of 4 minutes. All games will be controlled by MFA referees. Each participant will get a full Givova kit and numero1 gloves and a commemorative medal.

All winners, runners-up and third place will get trophies. There will be two new awards for the goalkeeper who scores most and another for the one who concedes less goals.

The format of the competition will be as last season on Saturday the group phase (8 groups by 4 goalkeepers) and winner and runner up of each group will advance to the second round which will be played on a knock out basis to the finals on Sunday morning.

Applications can be obtained from all clubs and nurseries, all Puma outlets, di Milano sports shop in Paola or from Luxol Sports Ground.
