Gozo: Oratory Youths, Nadur Youngsters to contest GFA Cup final

Gozo-Football-AssociationOratory Youths and Nadur Youngsters will be contesting the final of the GFA Cup after defeating Victoria Hotspurs and SK Victoria Wanderers respectively in the two semi-finals on Easter Sunday.

In the first semi-final, Oratory Youths beat neighbours Victoria Hotspurs 6-1. Oliver Farrugia put them ahead on the 10th minute and a brace by Antoine Camilleri on 32 and 56 minutes put them three goals ahead. Dylan Mercieca was sent off for the Hotspurs with Darko Stojanovic increasing the lead on 64 minutes. Michael Bezzina pulled one back on 65 minutes but another two goals by Andrea Debrincat on 74 minutes and Antoine Camilleri four minutes later sealed the issue.

In the second semi-final, a brace by Elton Alexandre da Silva enabled Nadur Youngsters to turn defeat into victory, beating SK Victoria Wanderers 2-1. Daniel Bogdanovic converted a penalty to put the Wanderers ahead on 23 minutes but Elton da Silva equalised on 36 minutes, notching the winner twelve minutes in the second half.

The final is scheduled for next Sunday.
