First Division side Msida St Joseph have appointed Saviour Debono Grech as their new head coach. The decision was taken in the past weeks in which Mr. Debono Grech agreed and signed a new contract binding him to the club for the upcoming two seasons.
Saviour Debono Grech held the posts of assistant coach at Mqabba, Melita and Sliema W. before joining Siggiewi as their coach two seasons ago. During the past season, Saviour has acted as assistant coach at Hibernians FC.
Msida SJFC’s decision to appoint Mr. Debono Grech as head coach was taken without hesitation as the club’s board believes that the new head coach has all the qualities to help the club achieve positive results during the upcoming season. In addition, the club currently boasts a group of young promising players who won promotion at youth level last season, who can be integrated with the senior squad.
President Mr. Edward Calleja stated that “Saviour Debono Grech is the ideal candidate to help the club in aiming for a better season than the previous”. Mr. Calleja added that “the two-year contract was offered as it is necessary to give continuation to the targets that have been established earlier last month by the board”.
The club would like to take this opportunity to wish new head coach Saviour Debono Grech all the best in his new post. Meanwhile, pre-season training has resumed earlier this Tuesday.
