According to Italian transfermarket expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Malta international defender Andrei Agius is set to join Lega Pro side Monza.
Agius, who started his career at Santa Lucia before joining Sliema Wanderers, moved abroad in 2004 to join FK Zemun in Serbia. The following season, he moved to Italy to join Sporting Mascalcuia. He then signed for Messina but speent time on loan with AC Martina Franca and Igea Virtus. After a spell with Cassino, he joined Melfi but in January 2011, he returned to Malta, joining Birkirkara. Agius returned to Italy the following summer and played for Latina with whom he managed to secure promotion to the Serie B. He started last season with Torres but moved to Aprilia in January.
Monza placed fourth in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione A last season but as from this season with the reform of the Lega Pro, the Prima Divisione and the Seconda Divisione will be abolished and there will be three sections of twenty teams each.
