Abdelrahman Zaid Kurdieh has joined the Msida St. Joseph Football Club committee for the 2014/15 season.
Mr. Kurdieh is a passionate football enthusiast based in Dubai, UAE. Abdelrahman’s first taste of football administration started in 2013 with the foundation of an amateur football club in Dubai. He is co-founder and current president of Al Nisr FC, with whom he won promotion to the 3rd Division of the Dubai Amateur Football League earlier this year.
Building on this success, and thanks to the hard work put in by Head Coach Arafat Ismael, Abdelrahman began searching out new opportunities to gain a foothold in the world of professional football.
Maltese football surfaced on Abdelrahman’s radar when he began in-depth analysis of European football countries that would require smaller investments. When reaching out to Msida St. Joseph FC, Abdelrahman was met with a very hospitable response from club president Edward Calleja and subsequent incessant phone conferences and e-mail exchanges were held arriving at a final product of a partnership between Al Nisr FC and Msida St. Joseph FC.
With the partnership firmly in place for the upcoming season and optimistically for the future, Abdelrahman was quoted as saying, “I am looking forward to learn more about Maltese football in an effort to use my expertise in helping the club grow and eventually return to top flight football where this historical club belongs.”
Msida SJFC’s president Mr. Edward Calleja added that “Msida St. Joseph is thrilled with this partnership as it will help the club grow and open the door to new and exciting opportunities down the line”. He added that “the hard work done during this intense summer to plan the upcoming season resulted in a key factor to be able to close negotiations within just a few weeks.”
Thanks to the involvement of Mr. Kurdieh, the club will now become better strategically placed to grow both in administration and footballing terms. With Abdelrahman’s skills and expertise, the club has now expanded its borders internationally and this should result in future foreign investment and also more connections that can result in a higher level of foreign players joining the ranks of Msida SJFC.
