Nadur Youngsters, Oratory Youths, Xewkija Tigers and Second Division side Ghajnsielem secured a place in the semi-finals of the BOV GFA Cup after emerging as winners in the four quarter-finals which were played over the weekend.
Nadur found no difficulty in disposing of Sannat Lions, beating them 6-0. Joseph Grima put the Youngsters ahead on 9 minutes and three minutes later, Christian Debono doubled the score. Joseph Vella made it 3-0 on 16 minutes and four minutes later, Claudio Antunes scored the fourth goal. Christian Debono added another on 32 minutes before Joseph Vella scored a sixth goal two minutes from time.
Oratory Youths defeated Kercem Ajax 2-1. An own goal by Keith Borg put Kercem ahead but a brace by Mark Camilleri on 52 and 81 minutes handed the Youths victory.
Xewkija Tigers beat Victoria Hotspurs by the odd goal in five. Chris Camilleri put the Tigers ahead on 24 minutes and although Rodney Buttigieg equalised on 58 minutes, they regained the lead three minutes later through Daniel Bogdanovic. Nikola Vasilic restored equilibrium on 69 minutes with an own goal by Moussa Bamba handing Xewkija a place in the semi-finals twelve minutes from time.
Meanwhile Ghajnsielem beat Gharb Rangers 2-1 in a clash between two Second Division sides. It was a dramatic win for the Blacks as although they managed to take the lead on 38 minutes through Charlon Tabone on 38 minutes, Stephen Apap equalised on the 90th. However five minutes in added time, Jason Portelli notched the winner.
