Elite Referee Fyodor Zammit is representing the Malta Football Association at the five-day Winter Course for Elite Referees being held at Resort Fundata in Brasov, Romania between 9th and 13th February.
The invitation for the Malta F.A. to send one of its top referees is a result of the optimum collaboration that exists between the Chairman of Referees’ Committee in Romania Kyros Vassaras and MFA Director of Refereeing Adrian Casha.
Kyros Vassaras shall be the main instructor at this course, during which various important topics will be covered, such as positioning, free kick management, body language, man management, illegal use of arms, holding, dissent, confrontation, challenges, handball, offside, simulation, stopping promising attacks, denial of goal scoring opportunities, additional assistant referees, teamwork and racism.
Fyodor Zammit’s technical ability will be assessed through various video tests, whilst his athletic performance will be measured through the rigorous yo-yo fitness test.
This is another fine example of the Malta F.A.’s commitment to provide learning opportunities for its match officials.
