Nine Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.
Justin Grioli (Balzan), Paul Fenech and Ini Etim Akpan (Birkirkara), Gary Roberts and Dyson Falzon (Mosta), Alfred Effiong (Qormi), Pedro Henrique dos Santos Calcado and Marko Potezica (Sliema) and Eduardo Vallecillo Casado (Tarxien) are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.
Gary Roberts and Dyson Falzon will miss the game against Mosta, Paul Fenech and Ini Etim Akpan the clash with Floriana, Alfred Effiong the game against Naxxar, Pedrinho, Potezica and Justin Grioli the match Sliema vs Balzan and Vallecillo the derby against Hibernians.
Meanwhile Birkirkara physical trainer Vincenzo Cestaro was banned for one match and Mosta kit-manager Victor Vella was suspended for two matches.
In Division 1, John Nwoba (Gzira) was suspended for three matches while Philip Chircop (Fgura), Karl Cutajar and Rafael da Silva Gomes (Mqabba), Ricardo Silva Faria and Gianluca Vella (Msida), Dylan Falzon and Adam Smeir (Rabat), Sheldon Grech (Vittoriosa) and Raimi Bakare (Zurrieq) were all suspended for one match.
Keith Fedele (Gharghur), Joseph Rizzo (Marsa), Josef Cutajar (San Gwann) and Kristian Sultana (Swieqi) were handed a one-match ban in Division 2. Senglea coach Edgar Degabriele, assistant coach Vince Camilleri and club official Jean Paul Spiteri were all banned for two matches.
In Division 3, Malcolm Attard (Attard), Noel Tabone and Darren Cristina (Kalkara), Ilyad Scicluna and Joshua Galea (Kirkop), Ryan D’Amato (Marsaxlokk), Gilbert Camilleri (Mdina) and Francesco Azzopardi (Mtarfa) were handed a one-match ban. Marsaxlokk club official Tony Bugeja was banned for two matches.
