Balzan and Luxol booked a place in the Futsal Knock-Out final, which is scheduled for April 30th, after finding no difficulty to oust Qormi and Valletta respectively.
Luxol saw off Qormi 6-0 in a match in which they dominated for long stretches. William Barbosa, Florin Anton and Dale Camilleri scored two goals each to help Luxol reach the final.
Serbian international Slobodan Janjic was three times on the mark as Balzan outpaced Valletta to win 10-2 and close in on a fourth final in three years.
It was a great performance by Balzan who added more goals from Mark Zammit, Frane Despotovic and Glenn Bonello who scored a brace each. Karl Azzopardi was also on the mark for the holders as Valletta reduced the arrears through Javier Montes Burgos and Shawn Vella.
In the First Division, leaders Lija Athletics continued with their good form of late after trouncing Sirens 6-0. Nicola del Re (2), Jean Bert Gatt, Mark Mizzi, Aleksandar Ribic and Zeljko Anicic put their name on the score sheet for Lija.
Mellieħa strengthened the second spot on the table after easing through Luqa 5-1 while Mdina defeated Birzebbuga 6-4.
