BOV Women’s League champions Hibernians were drawn in Group 3 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying round. The draw was held in Nyon on Thursday.
Hibs were drawn with the champions of Cyprus – Apollon Limassol LFC, Stjarnan of Iceland and KÍ Klaksvík of the Faroe Islands. Malta international player Rachel Cuschieri plays for Apollon Limassol who will be hosting the mini-tournament.
Last season, Apollon Limassol made it to the Round of 32 stage. KÍ Klaksvík are maintaining their unique record of featuring in all 15 editions of the competition although they have never gone past this round. In 2011, they had defeated Mosta 1-0.
The Qualifying round mini-tournaments will be played between August 11th and 16th.
Hibernians took part in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time last season, losing the three games in the mini-tournament.
