After claiming three points from the first two matches, the Malta Under-21 side lost 4-1 to the Czech Republic at the Strelnice Stadion in Jablonec nad Nisou on Friday.
Patrik Schick put the hosts ahead after just ten minutes and doubled the score on the 21st. Luke Montebello pulled one back for Malta but captain Aleš Čermák made it 3-1 three minutes later. Robert Hrubý sealed the issue with a fourth goal eleven minutes in the second half.
Malta will be in action once again on Tuesday against Montenegro.
