The MFA Refereeing Department announces more international appointments for FIFA Referee Esther Azzopardi in the month of October.
UEFA has appointed FIFA Referee Esther Azzopardi to be the referee of the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 32 match between Olimpia Cluj Napoca (Romania) and Paris Saint-Germain (France) being played on Thursday at the Cluj Arena in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Esther Azzopardi shall be assisted by FIFA Assistant Referees Angela Kyriakou (Cyprus) and Biljana Atanasovski (FYR Macedonia), while Andra Hiticas (Romania) will act as Fourth Official.
On Tuesday 13th October, Esther Azzopardi shall be the referee of the Women’s International Friendly Match, Estonia vs Malta, being played at the Sportland Arena in Talinn. Triinu Laos and Anni Rahula (both FIFA Assistant Referees from Estonia) will be accompanying Esther Azzopardi, while FIFA Referee Reelika Turi (Estonia) shall act as Fourth Official.
Meanwhile UEFA has announced that Esther Azzopardi will be the referee of the Women’s EURO 2017 Group 1 Qualifying match, Slovenia vs Iceland, being played on Monday 26th October at the Sportni Park in Lendava, Slovenia. This will be an important assignment for Esther Azzopardi in front of the watchful eyes of UEFA Referees’ Committee member Bo Karlsson (Sweden), who has been appointed as the referee observer of this important match.
