Twenty attending MFA Referees’ Academy

Twenty male and female youths aged 14-18 are currently attending the MFA Referees’ Academy, which is in its 5th year of operation.

Held every Saturday morning, the Referees’ Academy aims at providing participants with a mix of both theoretical and practical sessions. Led by Project Leader Paul Caruana, a number of instructors as well as active match officials have teamed up in mentoring the participants in the Laws of the Game as well as other areas related to refereeing such as mental preparation, personality and the importance of fitness training and testing.

A major change from this season is that the program will be spread over one season only. In January all participants will also be taking part in an Academy Weekend.
