Balzan FC unveiled Bet 90 as a new sponsor of the club during a press conference which was held at the club’s premises on Monday.
This sponsorship extends a long relationship between the club and the Sullivan family as Bet 90 Managing Director Simon Sullivan is the grandson of Edward Sullivan who was a member of the Balzan Youths team when the club was founded in 1937. Another two brothers of Edward Sullivan were members of the team at the time.
Addressing the media, Balzan FC president Anton Tagliaferro said it was a pleasure to welcome Bet 90 as a sponsor of the club and that it would extend further the long relationship between the Sullivan family and Balzan FC.
Tagliaferro said the club had started the season quite well despite the fact that two of their key players – Bojan Kaljevic and this summer’s main signing Ryan Fenech were ruled out due to long-term injuries. He said that hopefully the two players will be back in a couple of months’ time – in time for the final phase of the Premier League campaign where Balzan aim to be among the challengers. Depending on the availability of Kaljevic and Fenech, Balzan could strenghten the squad further in the January transfer window.
The Balzan president said that it was of great satisfaction to see all Balzan youth teams – the Youth team, the Under-17s and the Under-15 playing in Section A which is a first for the club. He said this was all in line of the club’s philosophy of promoting good young Maltese players and supplementing them with other local and overseas players.
