Gharghur move to just one point behind BOV Second Division leaders Sirens following a 2-1 win over Swieqi United at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.

Following a goalless first half, Muda Fagbeja put Gharghur ahead four minutes after the break. Ryan Sell doubled the score five minutes later. Robert Southward scored a consolation goal for Swieqi in added time.

Sirens lead the way with 31 points, followed by Gharghur on 30, Marsa on 27, Zabbar 24, Zejtun 23, Birzebbuga and Siggiewi 19, Qrendi 17, Mellieha 16, Mgarr and Kirkop 15, Swieqi 13, Zurrieq 6 and Msida 5.
