Maltese officials to take charge of Welsh Premier League matches

The Malta Football Association’s Refereeing Department announced that as part of a Referee Exchange agreement with the Football Association of Wales, Elite officials will be in Wales this coming weekend to take charge of two important Premier League matches.

Matthew De Gabriele will control the clash between MBi Llandudno and Newtown on Friday while Mario Apap will control Rhyl FC vs Port Talbot Town FC on Saturday.

Assistant Referees for both matches will be Mitchell Scerri and Martin Borg; while Referees Matthew De Gabriele and Mario Apap will alternate their roles as Referee and Fourth Official.

The refereeing team shall be accompanied by Mr Stephen Mallia, who will be assigned a different match as Referee Observer.

This is another in a list of referee exchanges in recent years which give invaluable experience to our match officials for their future career; in fact, this is the first time that Matthew De Gabriele is participating in such an programme.
