Birkirkara stay four points clear in the BOV Women’s First Division as they defeated Raiders (Luxol) 4-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium on Tuesday.
Stephania Farrugia put the Stripes ahead on the 35th, Michela Felice doubled the score on the 63rd, Farrugia added another on the 68th and Alishia Sultana scored a fourth goal on the 77th.
Hibernians bounced back from the defeat to Mgarr United with an 8-2 win over Kirkop United at the Mgarr Ground on Wednesday. Shona Zammit opened the score on the 23rd and Ylenia Carabott converted a penalty on the 35th. One minute later, Emma Xuereb made it 3-0 but three minutes later, Demi Magrin reduced the gap for Kirkop. However Emma Xuereb scored another on the 42nd. Two goals by Ylenia Carabott on the 56th and 68th extended the lead further and although Viverly Erazo scored a second goal for Kirkop on the 72nd, Hibs added another two goals through Jade Flask on the 79th and Martina Borg on the 86th.
The other match between Gozo FC and Mgarr United which was due to be played on Sunday at the Kercem Ajax Stadium was postponed as there were no match officials for the game.
In the BOV Women’s Second Division, leaders Swieqi United maintained their perfect run thanks to a 6-1 win over Kirkop United Team B at the Zebbug Ground.
Yolande Attard put Swieqi ahead on the 31st, Aleksandra Georgieva doubled the score on the 43rd and Emma Moore made it 3-0 on the 45th. Swieqi scored a fourth goal on the 70th thanks to Rebecca Naudi but Maria Michela Cassar pulled one back for Kirkop on the 76th. However Kate Galea and Krista Montfort scored twice in the dying minutes to increase the lead.
In another match, Hamrun Spartans beat Tarxien Rainbows 3-1 at the Mgarr Ground. Hamrun scored three within the first twelve minutes as Aleksandra Malinkovic put them ahead on the 3rd minute and Raissa Grixti scored twice on the 7th and 12th. Jade Schembri pulled one back for Tarxien on the 28th but Cristiane Ortiz made it 4-1 on the 72nd.
